This week Mike welcomes cartoonist Josh Bayer to the show to discuss "All Time Comics," the new, shared universe superhero line from Fantagraphics. To bring these books to life, Josh and his brother Samuel looked to an amalgamation of classic and modern comics talent. Folks like Herb Trimpe, Al Milgrom, Ben Marra, Noah Van Sciver, and Rick Buckler came together for this, collaborating in unexpected ways to make some unexpected comics. Josh talks about his thoughts on blending artists from different generations, explains why it's not as new of an idea as one might think, and shares his vast knowledge of comics in general. "All Time Comics: Crime Destroyer #1" is available for pre-order now, and will be hitting the shelves of all respectable comic shops in March.

Another “Previews” in the pullbox means another look into our comics future! This first half of our expanded “Previews” coverage focuses on the catalog’s Green section, the back half that just so happens to cover about 75% of comics publishers. What impending February 2017 releases catch Mike & Greg’s fancy? (Or Brian and Greg, since Mike is still on sabbatical?) The Archies! Trimpe & Marra overdrive! X-O Manowar! An all-star Otomo tribute! Twomorrows compendiums! All that, plus the hierarchy of mainstream comics publishers, handling kid icons without kid gloves, the genius of hiring Rian Hughes, Mike Marts: comics editor or offensive coordinator, and much more! Definitively something for everyone in this top half of our two-part “Previews” walkthrough!

Greg kicks off the Brian Salvatore run of guest-hosted episodes by chatting with the Multiversity Comics Senior Editor himself. Brian reflects back on 2016, including how that picture with Didio and Lee came about. He also talks about what it’s like keeping the site running, how he manages to balance comics, work, and a busy home life, and what went into last year’s Supergirl Art Month charity event. Get a little peek behind the Multiversity curtain on today’s episode!

Continuing Multiversity's weeklong coverage of the Mignolaverse is a conversation with the man himself: Mike Mignola. The conversation kicks off with a discussion on collaborating on such a huge canvas and continues on into some very interesting places. It was a fantastic discussion and we couldn't be more grateful to Mike for sharing some time with us.

If you've missed any of this week's other Mignola-centric coverage you can find it all right here:
