With DC (via Geoff Johns) finally putting out real information about what those “Rebirth” teasers have been hinting at, Mike & Greg fire up the speculation machine and see what this might actually mean for the company in 2016 and beyond. Along the way, the lads talk about the long & winding road of Bob Harras’ comics career (and how it never seems to stray too far from Jim Lee’s), muse on how much of ‘Rebirth’ is course-correcting the New 52, play Fantasy DC EiC, decipher the silhouette behind the curtain, and more!

Another Previews catalog showed up on their doorsteps, so it’s time to gaze into the tomorrow of April 2016 and see what catches Mike and Greg’s eyes. Dark Night! Black Panther! Mike Mignola’s Amazing Screw-On Head! Over The Garden Wall! Heavy Metal! Divinity II (the Second Coming?)! The Making Of! Alternative Comics (again, just the publisher)! Micronauts! Dept. H! Dungeons & Dragons! Irmina! 5000 Km Per Second! Sooner or Later! Unfollow! All that, plus the full breadth of IDW’s Ninja Turtle output, the difficulty of proper cover credits, making sense of Power Fist, finally giving Natasha Romanov her due, who Grant Morrison is really giving the finger to on that “Heavy Metal” cover, the knife in the water, and so much more!

When you get the chance to interview Greg Rucka, even if he just finished his most recent hours-long talk with Wordballoon's John Siuntres a few weeks prior, you just take that opportunity and hope you can bring a little something extra to the conversation. Taking that chance is just what (our) Greg did this past week, sitting down with the writer to fire off a few "addendum" questions he had thought of after listening to the latest 'Rucka Debrief'. But since (author) Greg is not only thoughtful in his responses but also extremely generous with his time, that one chat became two, with the planning of a third a few weeks from now. Today's episode contains those first two conversations, hitting topics ranging from in-depth process talk about Rucka's many career collaborations, spoiler-filled deep diving into the "Lazarus" Season One finale, the blacks and whites of "Black Magick", where the DCU lost its morale compass (and Greg's complicity in that), and just how he manages to write such positive, optimistic material without wanting to, in his own words, 'eat a gun'.
